(pictured) From here, you can continue south, on the St. John River, to the larger town on Woodstock (pop. 5000), roughly 11 kilometers from Hartland. Woodstock is a popular shopping center for the surrounding area, being the closest town to the US border. There is a small public airport 2km outside of Woodstock. The city of Fredericton (pop. 50,535) is the capital city of the Canadian province of New Brunswick, and is an important cultural, artistic, and educational centre for the province.
